Peranakan cuisine is distinctive, and its pull is certainly spanning the generations.
Proof of its everlasting appeal lies in the fact that in this fast-paced and busy 21st century, a young mum with a toddler finds the time to put together a recipe book on Peranakan dishes.
A quick flip through the book shows it is easy to read, with the names of the dishes in the Hokkien dialect. Pictures are on the left page and framed in a beige/sand colour band, resulting in a systematic and methodical layout.
