What would you do when you found out your last day on earth ends terribly and will be repeated until you get the purpose of dying right?
Samantha Kingston’s last day on earth is not the same as everyone else. When she died the first time, she thought it will be the end for her, leaving everyone she loves behind without having to say one last goodbye. And then she woke up again and starts to relive her last day on earth again for the next few days until she get it right before moving on.
She relived her life again through hope, despair, anger and acceptance and came upon a realization of what needs to be done and she never thought she has the chance to outgrow her past self to be someone better, memorable for those who are important in her life and has her own self-reflection.
The best thing about this book definitely is how you can see how the character progression of Samantha, who starts off very standoff-ish to become someone who finally acknowledges that the world does not revolve around her and what she want to do with her final moment of life. And when you finished the book, you will definitely rooting for her and feel her presence until the final page of the book.
You should also watch the movie adaptation of the book and its portrayal of the best things the book has to offer: friendship and self-redemption.
