From the international best-selling author, Lang Leav, comes the much anticipated debut novel. Leav is famous for her poetry books and it totally shows in Sad Girls. One of the things I liked most is the way she writes the novel; it’s as if I was drawn by what she described down to the very last word on the last page. That’s what you get for having a poet as writer for a novel. I was hooked just by reading the first page in which Lang effortlessly describe how “Death, like fiction, is brutal in its symmetry”. Now, did that quote spark up your interest?
Sad Girls has a very intriguing plot. Whether you’re a fan of Lang Leav or not, this novel is the exact thing you need to pick up for a dose of dark secrets, romance, coming-of-age story and friendship. I won’t give too much away since this is the type of book that you need to go through without knowing anything much about it (and that’s what I did and I was indeed SHOOK). Prepare to be sad.
