In this first book of Heather Nuhfer’s middle-grade series, she has captured what it’s like to be in middle school; wanting to fit in with the cool kids, but led to a journey of (adventure and mystery packed) self-discovery; at least for Veronica McGowan’s case.
Veronica desperately wants to be noticed in school. She wishes for it and got more than what she bargained for; a series of embarrassing “powers” that make things go out of hand! She then embarks on a journey to find out where her powers came from, and how to control them before it goes from bad to worse!
What I like about this read is that at the end of the day, it teaches us to embrace our own individual quirks and just be ourselves. It is also filled with action, mystery, humor, and the values of friendship. This one is for those who want it all packed in a book that also celebrates individuality.
