MPH Group Publishing is honoured to announce the forthcoming release of the long-awaited memoirs of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, entitled A Doctor in the House: The Memoirs of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, which will be available tomorrow at all MPH bookstores and other bookstores nationwide.
The book will be officially released tomorrow, 8th March 2011 at 10.00am and retails at RM100.00.
Tun Dr Mahathir’s extraordinary 22-years as Prime Minister of Malaysia has inspired a slew of publications dedicated to assessments of his leadership through the most important junctures of Malaysia’s history as a modern nation state.
These were times of great challenge and change, crisis and opportunity, and while many of these accounts have had the benefit of fresh interviews or objective criticism—or even if they have been unduly harsh, for Tun Dr Mahathir has been no stranger to controversy—none has had the benefit of being written in his own hand.
At over 800 pages, A Doctor in the House: The Memoirs of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad takes readers on a journey known to very few outside Tun Dr Mahathir’s immediate family: from his earliest memories of childhood; through the most important events in the history of Malaya’s struggle through the sunset of British colonialism, World War, and Independence; to his life as a doctor; his constant struggles as a politician to improve the lot of his fellow citizen; his single-minded pursuit of his country’s goals; his greatest fears; and his most cherished hopes.
